Learning at Home - 2020/21

Welcome to the 'Learning at Home' page of the school website for the Autumn Term of 2020/21. This page supports Fairfield girls if they are completing their learning at home due to quarantining, having to isolate or partial school closure. Fairfield High School for Girls is operating a 'Blended Curriculum' for Year 7 to 11. This means that we have prepared a curriculum to be completed whilst pupils are in school and the same curriculum to be completed, via Microsoft Teams, whilst learning at home.

Accessing Digital Materials - The video guide on this page has been created by Mrs Rowland to explain how pupils can access a range of digital materials to support their learning at home, including Microsoft Teams, their school e-mail and Office 365.

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a collaborative workspace for sharing files, information and messages. Faculties are uploading a wide variety of lessons, homework tasks and resources for the girls to access via the 'assignments' function. Pupils completing learning at home are expected to follow their school timetable each day and will find classwork lessons in their set assignments. Microsoft Teams can be accessed through the Office 365 login. Please click on the document below for a Microsoft Teams user guide for pupils.

Extension Work

The page 'Beyond the Curriculum' contains a variety of extra activities to complete at home if the set work has been completed or if pupils want a further challenge. Pupils will follow their Maths curriculum via assignments set on Microsoft Teams. Extra Maths learning can also be completed through the online Maths platform MathsWatch, which all Fairfield pupils have logins for.
