Fairfield Leaders
At Fairfield we develop leadership skills in all our pupils, equipping each individual for future learning and success. The Fairfield Curriculum has leadership programmes available from Year 7 to Year 11. In Year 7 and Year 8 pupils participate in the Fairfield Leadership Award. In Year 9 pupils have the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award. During Life Skills in Year 10 and Year 11 all pupils complete the Archbishop of York Young Leaders Award.
"Students’ views play an important role in identifying how the school can improve further"

Fairfield Leadership Award - Year 7 and Year 8
The Fairfield Leadership Award for Year 7 and Year 8 pupils recognises pupils’ leadership skills and the impact they have in the classroom, across the school and in the wider community. The process encourages pupils to:
- Critically self-reflect on their own skills as leaders.
- Work collaboratively to plan how they will meet the criteria and evidence it.
- Organise and structure their evidence.
- Peer assess others’ work against the criteria.
- Aspire to take on increasingly challenging leadership responsibilities.
The award itself provides valuable evidence of pupils’ all round achievements when planning their next steps whether that is applying for colleges, universities or jobs.
