Please Note: Fairfield High School for Girls strive to remain open 

If closure is unavoidable we will do everything we can to inform parents as soon as possible using the following methods of communication:

  • Schoolcomms
  • Website
  • E-mail

Absence due to bad weather

If your child is absent from the Academy, you should phone each day before 8:30am. The number to ring is 0161 370 1488.

On returning to school, we will require a written note to be sent to the school.

Travelling to school in bad weather

  • Pupils must come to school suitably prepared in robust outdoor clothing.
  • Pupils should have had something to eat before they leave home.
  • Pupils need to know how they will get home or how they will get to a safe place.
  • Pupils will not be allowed to remain in school, they must have plans in place.

Travelling home from school in bad weather

If the school needs to send students home before the normal finishing time, parents/carers will be notified using the above methods of communication.

We ask that you try to keep the school upto date with your current contacts details so allowing for the possibility of easy methods of comunication.
